Well, I know in Florida they have florida prepaid. Which does exactly that.
I don't know where you live, but most states do have some kind of prepaid tuition plan, but your child must stay in that state to get the tuition paid for.
Put the Money now in a bank in A Cd you can get up 10% interest.
I know that in Texas you can. It's called the "Texas Tomorrow Fund" where you set aside money for the future. It's a use or loose it program and can only be used if your child attends a Texas university. Your state may have something similar.
I know in PA you could do this but I don't know if you can anywhere else but there was a way through the state my mom picked a school (Penn State) and she would put money towards it every once and while and pay off credits for that schools current cost. Today at the age of 17 she has paid for 3 credits at Penn State and if I decide to go anywhere else they will adjust the number I have based on the cost differences in the 2 schools today.
we have a prepaid program in idaho but they have to attend a public state university to be eligible. That deffinantly limits where your kids will go to school.
