If you plan on transferring anywhere you should start the process a semester before you plan on transferring because there are allot of papers to fill out when you transfer to another place. If you indicated on your fafsa application more than one college where it asked for your school code like 003040 and you put in both your current school's code and the code of the schools you were hoping to transfer, then your ok because every place you listed would have gotten your fafsa information. If not then you have to amend your fafsa either online or by phone or something. Supposedly you have to be in school somewhere in order to get money. And people complain the U.S. is losing educated researchers and such to other countries. Maybe if there wasn't so much paperwork just to get into college, scientists might actually stay here.
