I'm extremely scared and nervous.
I have no idea what I want to do when it's over.
I probably won't get accepted to big colleges because of my math grades so I don't know what to do.
Any ideas?
How was your last year of high school and what did you do once it was over?
Answers:
my last year of high school was sort of desperate becuase i wanted to get out and graduate and never look back!!
you'd be surprised that it doesnt take much to get in college, well depends on what kind of college it is, i was very poor in math my senior year, made nothing but D's ALL THE TIME, still got in college, made a 16 on the ACT (the lowest grade) still got in college, gotta have your immunization shots before entering too, gotta send a copy of your transcript. i did all this after high school was over, thats the next step.
ok i am only 11 years old but u could get a math tutor and a cheap one but good one and apply for some schoorships(spell check) but yeah and go to a comunity college and yeah simple stuff like that
That was me last year! Just do your best, don't let senioritis and procrastination overcome you. Be sure to balance your academics and fun and don't leave any regrets!
It's good that you know what your weakness is! Use that to your advantage and put the most emphasis on that class. Study hard and you'll do well! Good luck!
I was in your same situation in my senior year in high school. So I spent my senior year researching and applying to as many colleges as possible.
I was the opposite of you, my math grades were great however my english and liberal arts grades were not that good. Then finally I found a few engineering schools (i.e. MIT, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Cal Tech, etc.) that focused more on math scores rather then liberal arts scores.
So you should not give up and find a college that do not focus that much on math scores. You can still go to college.
Another option is to go to a 2 year college prior to going to a 4 year college. Focus on getting your math scores up there then re-apply to the 4 year schools with your updated math scores.
Other options are to join the military or start your own business once you graduate from high school.
It's really hard when you reach your senior years and still undecided of what you want to become. Although I am still undecided of what I want to become then, I apply to different colleges to ensure that I will have a school to enroll to when the time comes. I suggest you choose a course that will be in line of what you want or your hobbies. For example, you love drawing, then take a Fine Arts course, you are good in computer then take a computer related course. It is only through your passion that you will find enjoyment in college. Remember that whatever course your are going to take later on will decide your future. Do not enroll in a course just because your friends took them because usually people who just go with their peers don't finishes college at all because their heart are not into it. Your high school friends will not be with you forever. Why don't you try getting a career assessment test at your guidance office so that you will know at what field you excel? Surely, that will help you a lot.
Good luck!
It all depends on what you want to study and where you want to go to college. You most certainly will get into any community college and I highly suggest doing so as it is MUCH cheaper!! If you do not do well on their assessment tests in math and English, you will just have to do remedial courses first. That will help you improve your math skills anyway. Once you finish all your general education at a community college, transfer to a four year college or university; private or public.
Taking your general education at a community college will give you the opportunity to figure out what it is you want to do, and not cost as much as a college/university. I suggest you take your electives in something you are interested in or think you may be interested in. This will help you figure out what it is you want to do or what major you may want to study.
You have plenty of time to declare a major. Take your time, and as many diverse courses you can so you get an idea of what is out there.
My best advice though is to study something you like because you are more likely to finish school. Wouldnt it be nice to be able to work in an industry you enjoy? Dont be scared, a lot of people in your situation are feeling the same way. What are you good at? Music? Dance? Art? Writing? Do you like to teach people? Do you like to coach? Start thinking about what you like now and see if there is an industry and/or a program for it.
Good luck!!
Dont worry about not getting into a university just go to a junior college ull save money and ull b more prepared when u do decide to go to a university...My last year was awsome but I kinda slacked off I didnt take any math or science classes which was a big mistake because now I have to take a remidal math.my advice to you is take it easy plan ur schedule to where u are challenging urself but still have free time to enjoy urself in extra curricular activities.start looking at colleges and see which ones meet ur needs the most and which ones are affordable.apply for financial and as many scholarships as possible because trust me ull need all the money you can...but most of all enjoy it things will come into place I know how you feel I went through this last year..but now im one week b4 starting college and im so excitied! hope this helps and have an awsome year!
