You need to go to or call the Workforce Center in Sapulpa. It's right next to the Burger King and the Sapulpa Central Tech branch. Ask to talk to a WIA counselor (WIA stands for Workforce Investment Act). WIA will sometimes pay individuals who want to go to school in high demand careers such as nursing and truck driving. The counselor would be able to give you a better idea of the eligibility criteria and if you qualify. It's a pretty lengthy application process so it isn't something that is going to happen in one day, but I do know that Central Tech is an approved provider and have seen many, many people get funding from at that office. The absolute best way to get your CDL is to find a company that has both straight trucks and tractor trailers. You can start in a straight truck, prove yourself a good employee, and get trained to drive a tractor trailer. Then by the time you have your CDL you already have experience.
