How would I know if I was eligible for a grant?

Question:Is there a website that could help with that? Also if I got it, would i get it right away so I could pay the enrollment fees and for the books, or would I have to use my money?

Answers:
You would have to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid - www.fafsa.ed.gov) so that an EFC (Expected Family Contribution) could be calculated.

Schools use their COA (Cost of Attendance) in conjunction with the EFC to determine what types of financial aid a student would be eligible for.

"Right away" depends on how quickly your school would process your information once it receives the FAFSA. If you do have to use some of your money and are eligible to receive financial aid, then you would receive a refund check to help recoup your out of pocket expenses.

You should talk to a financial aid officer at your school for more information/guidance. Good luck!
depends on which unviersity/school you applied to, as they should have a website which tells you the grants you would get depending on certain amount of household income.

You would probably not get the full grant straight away into your bank, they would most likely put it installments of each semester/terms. First installment probably at the beginning of your course, then abit later on and later on for that year of course.

You would not have to use the money if you don't want to, the grant is just money for you. So do whatever with the money :)
