How are you supposed to pay for college?

Question:I plan on going to Eastern Kentucky University to get a major in psycology someday, but how am I suppose to pay? What kind of scholarships are available?

Answers:
If you are unable to get a grant or scholarship you should try a private student loan. You can start online at http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=91476&... (if you apply through this link I get paid $2, just to be up front about it.)
Or you can go directly through to them at http://www.studentloanadvisors.com... if you apply before 10pm eastern they call you back right away and usually get an answer to you in a day, money sent directly to you in about 10 days.

You can join the referral program and earn $2 for each free request if you want by clicking here... http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=70&u=1...

Kind of nice to make a couple bucks while helping students.
Save, save, save. Also, go to WWW.FASTWEB.COM There are TONS of scholarship links there. It takes work, but if you are planning on going to the University, you have to work anyway, right?
You can get a student loan.
There are several things that my Community College offers.

Calworks
Financial aid
Scholarships
AmeriCorps
Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS)
College Fee Waiver

Try to visit your school financial aid center and scholarship center.
Make sure you file a FAFSA. Contact your the school's financial aid office and they can tell you about the scholarships that they offer. There are many scholarships you can apply for online. Try www.fastweb.com, collegeboard.com, scholarships.com. Go to google and type in scholarships and many websites will come up. Good luck.
The government has several programs set up for students who cannot afford to go to college. There are grants (which do not need to be repaid), loans (that have a lower interest rate and don't accrue interest until you graduate), and workstudy programs. When you get ready to start school, file the FAFSA after January 1st of your senior year. Do it ASAP because the earlier you get it in, the more money you can get.
There are tons of scholarships available for you online. You can read about scholarships here:

Your other option if you can't get any grants or scholarship is to take out a student loan. You have to pay these back, but you typically don't start repayment until about 6 months after you graduate from college.

The best type of loan to get is a federal government student loan. Here are the steps you need to take:

1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don't need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here:

3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here:

Good luck!
