Your work history and money you make annually. When I applied for financial aid, I was living with my parents. I had graduated form High school. I showed that even though I am living with my parents, I am paying them rent. If you are working then you don't have to show your parents income. You can show your income and show your rent per month. More expenses you have, more money you will get.
If you are under the age of 25 or married or have dependents you have to claim your parents on the fafsa forms if you don't, they will eventually catch on and drop your aid. Always tell the truth even if you will get more money. I have kids and go to school full time so my check isn;t too bad.
