What are federal maximums for grants?

Question:Maximums for the Pell and Federal Supplemental? And for the state of Illinois MAP grant.

I'm looking for the per school year maximum--and if it's different for each school year (Fresh. Soph. Jun. Sen), each respective year's maximum?

Also, is there a career maximum, and what can I expect in the way of aid should I find myself in grad school?

Answers:
The maximum for federal Pell grant for the 0708 aid year is $4310. Federal Supplemental Education Grant ( FSEOG) has a maximum of $ 4000. This doesn't mean that you will receive $4000. Pell and SEOG are awarded differently. SEOG is for student who show extraordinary need, with priority given to Pell eligible students.

While schools are given enough money to cover Pell awards, SEOG is given as a block of money that needs to be even awarded on a first come first served basis. It works like this, a school is given a certain amount of money(for example , lets say $5). That $5 needs to be spread out over the student body (with Pell eligible students being given first priority). A school can run out of FSEOG so apply early.

Unfortunately, I can't answer about the Illinois MAP, as I am not familiar with it.
