Remember to shop savvy. Places like Marshall's, Kohl's, and Ross often have name brand apparel for less. You don't have to go all out. A couple good, nice pairs of jeans, maybe some cargo khaki pants or shorts and 4 or 5 shirts can be incorporated into the wardrobe your son already has. Everything doesn't need to be "brand new" for him to feel like he's returning to school with new things or 'in style'. May need a new nice pair of tennis shoes. An article I read recently advised parents, esp if on a budget, to encourage children to hold off on some other purchases to 'wait and see what the other kids are wearing' and at the same time allow for some more back to school sales to kick in. I'm all for individuality, but saving money along the way never hurt. Good luck! Your son should feel fortunate to have people who are concerned about his happiness and well-being.~
It depends on where you shop.I prefer to shop for my kid a Little at a time and go to sales and she uses her own money as well. Shops mostly at American Eagle.
Hmm I have no idea how this fits into Financial aid...but...you may want to shop at bargain stores.as in stores that sell the same shirt for less. A good spot is Burlington Coat factory. I buy my brother's clothes from there and they love them every xmas. YOu can get name brands like Drunkn munky, rocawear, mecca, south pole, levi, guess, etc etc. YOu can even trust him to shop on his own because you really cant overpay for anything...great collection of name brand winter gear too. He'll be cool and you'll be happy (cause you didnt go bankrupt keeping him "in style". Giving him about $300 shoudl get him quite a layout from BCF.
