I am a high school senior who has been accepted at Notre Dame, but I can't afford it. How can I get money?

Question:...it's been my dream for a long time to go to Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. I've filled out the FAFSA and Profile, applied for some scholarships, including an Air Force ROTC which I am hesitant about. Any specific suggestions?

Answers:
Talk to the school. I am sure they have scholarships or grants or loan available. Can you play football? You did not say if you were a boy or a girl. Why not talk to your school consoler? If you were smart enough to get in there has to something. Please don't give up. I wsh you all the best.
Here's something first-generation college students don't usually know. The sticker price of a private college is misleading. I received scholarships to a private college in High School, but after looking at the costs, minus the scholarships, it was still more expensive than the state schools. So I did what I knew to do at that time, and went to a state school which, in retrospect, turned out to be a great choice for me.

The aid available to students of private colleges is usually greater than the grants available to students in public institutions. Also, the financial aid available to state schools is also available to students of private schools, such as Pell grants and loans. Private schools have their own endowments.

If attending Notre Dame is important to you, then it can be done, and for less than the sticker price.
