Where can I get a loan for college without using a co-signer?

Question:

Answers:
You should apply for financial aid because filling out the FAFSA form is completely free. The FAFSA form simply informs you of what you are qualified for. This does not mean that you are forced to accept what they indicate you are qualified for.

Once you know what you are qualified for, your school will put together a Financial Aid package for you, at which time you can choose whether to accept certain loans or not.

One thing to keep in mind; if you would like to receive Federal Grants through Financial Aid, which is money from the government that you do not have to pay back, you still need to fill out a FAFSA form. Good Luck, I hope this helps!
depends on whether you have had loans in the past, try stafford loans, also your fin. aid counselor should be able to help.
Hey have you filed your FASFA with your college? They will see if you are elegible for loans for college. You will see if you qualify for the pell grant, F-SEOG 2006-07, Texas Grant Continuing, TPEG resident, Subsidized Stafford loans, Unsub. STafford loans.

I would try to do that first if you haven't already and see what you get from that.

If you have tried that then I would say just go to a lender and see if you have enough credit for a private loan or just a loan for you with no co-signers.

Do you work? Sometimes jobs...give grants or money to employees. Good luck.
Federal Student loans (the ones you are offered when you fill out the FAFSA) don't require a cosigner. It usually doesn't matter your age or credit history. If you are being offered a loan that requires a cosigner, its either because the school you are going to has maxed out those loans, or the school isn't eligible to recieve federal funds. Either way, i would seriously consider looking at another school. RUN!

You can get a federal government loan without a cosigner. Here are the steps you need to take to get one:

1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don't need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here:

3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here:

4) You can also try to get a grant or scholarship, which is free money that you won't have to pay back. You can read about them here:
