Question:Besides federal grant i get , about 4 thousand , beside that i need to get some extra money, because my mother is very poor, and if i leave for college, she wont be able to pay the bills without me working, so i would need to leave her like 5 000 , so she doesnt have to worry about bills. please i really wanna go away for college.
can i take out like two student loans from different banks, or they wont allow it, and are there loans that dont go to my school directly, but to me?

Answers:
The first answer tells you a lot, very good! One thing I would add is that there are loans available for living expenses. Since my family has NO money, and I decided to go to a school that cost over 30k a year, due to the quality, I used all federal/state grant money, pell grant, subsidized stafford loans. I put my tuition, room and board, books, etc on loan. Once I moved off campus, I still could get loan money to cover my rent, food, etc. I worked both on and off campus - and trust me, it paid off! :)
You can take out federal government loans. What will happen is that the government will send your financial aid office a check to cover your tuition, and whatever is left over will go to you. When I was in college I had a lot of money left over, so I used it to pay for my apartment rent. You can always send the rest to your mother. Just remember that once you graduate you have to pay it back.

To get a federal loan here's what you need to do:

1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don't need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here:

3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here:

You can also apply for various scholarships, which are free sources of money that you don't have to pay back. You can read about them here:
