In addtion, if you will start college in the 0809 school year, then you can complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid - http://www.fafsa.ed.gov) after January 1, 2008. You should check to see if your school(s) requires an in-house application as well. Those should cover any institutional scholarships and federal grants that you may be eligible for. You also need to make sure you complete any forms required of the financial aid office by their prescribed deadline (usually around April).
In addition, you should talk to your high school counselor for any information regarding local scholarships.
