First, Bravo! I have to give you props for thinking about your future. Next I will tell you how I got through college without any debt. First, I know you want to go straight to a big university right? Well it has been shown that students who go to a community college not only adjust better and get a higher GPA but they also do not get far into debt. So I went to community college and got all my general requirements out of the way. Then from there I transeferred to a state university, where i finished. During that time I worked hard, I basically went to school and work. I paid for school as I went, I did not take out student loans. If I had to I paid my tuition on my credit card and then made sure that I paid it off as fast as possible. Sure I would see all the other students that had student loans, driving nice new cars. But to me it was silly to live beyond your means, espiecially before you finished your schooling. I do have student loans now, I am in graduate school, but they are nothing. My friends on the other hand have 3 times the amount of debt with half the schooling. Next year I will start working in my chosen profession, and you can bet the first thing that I will do is pay off my debt. I wish you the best and hope that you do not fall into the same trap as your brother. Oh yeah and another thing, many of the schools that you see advertising that you can have your degree in just 9 months are nothing but money pitts that trick those who really do need to get a good job. I wish you luck!
