Well it would cost quite abit, but your daughter can have maintenance grant, as well as tuition loan to help with the cost of books etc. But remember, the cost of tuition fee doesn't have to be paid back until the student going to university earns over £15,000.

If you have other kids going to university that are similar ages of each other, you can get extra help with cost. It's like my sister and me, going to university, we get more maintenance grant to help to pay for the tuition fee later on.

Oh yeah, check if the university that your daughter has applied to have a grant system to help them.
. yes, have you applied for grants, scholarships for your daughter education is expensive
The cost of education varies. Is the student going in state or out of state to school. Will they go to a community college first to get the first 2 years done then transfer to a 4 year school or will they go straight to a 4 year. Are they going to a public school or private school?

Has the student researched scholarships? There are sites like www.collegeanswer.com and www.fastweb.com that have free scholarship databases. Will the student apply for financial aid through the fed govt using the FAFSA? Although some aid is based on financial need not all is. Same applies to scholarships, not all are based on need. Does the State you are in offer aid? What about the school? Some schools offer institutional aid.

Controling the cost at the school based on some of the questions I mentioned above then exhausting all other options like scholarships, grants, federal loans will help you determine what the true cost out of pocket will be. Even then there are affordable educational loans with rates as low as prime (8.25 I think) to help ease the burden of having to do things like home quity loans where collateral is put up, retirement, or costly credit cards with rates from 10,11 even 15-20% in some cases. Your best resource is a Financial Aid Counselor at a school.

P.S. You put England at the end of your question so I am not sure if that means she is going to school in England but what I stated applies here in the US. Not sure how education works in England.
if you have a well paid job dont worry

If you think you can afford it
Name your price and double it
But it won't be pretty
It is costly to put your kids through University. As I already had a Saturday job and I arranged with them that I would work when I had didn't have any lectures, I decided to go to a University that was close to home so I could keep my job and cut costs down by staying at home. Due to this I didn't have to take a loan like many of my friends did
Tuition fees will be £3,070 per year for students starting in September 2007.

If you are British citizens, regardless of your income, your daughter will be guaranteed a loan of:
£4,735 if she studies in London
£3,385 if elsewhere in the UK
£2,620 if she lives at home.

The household income thresholds are around £60k to apply for some portion of the loan, around £28k to receive some of the grant.

The government has announced for students starting university in 2008/09 to expect the income thresholds to drop further so more households qualify for the grants. This may influence some to defer entry for a year.
