How can I or my parent accept a PLUS loan? Please help!?

Question:my financial aid was just distributed today and I still have an outstanding balance of $2,100 at my college. I was offered a Pell grant of approximately $2,000 and a Direct loan of approximately $5,000, and a PLUS loan of approximately $7,000. I was able to accept the Pell grant and the Direct loan, yet I was not able to accept the PLUS loan, which I assume is because my parent would have to do it, but my mother is not here and my father does not know how to use a computer! What do I do? My balance of $2,100 HAS to be paid off by Aug. 24 or else I can't get into my dorm and I will have to drop out! And this is my senior year so I CANNOT just "drop out"! And I just typed a letter asking the school if they could extend my direct loan by $2,100, but I don't know if I can just send it in or if I actually have to take it to the school, and I don't even know if they will grant me the extension either, and even if they do grant me it what if it does not go through by Aug. 24??

Answers:
You do not have to accept the whole PLUS loand. At my school they have us approve our financial aid online except for the PLUS loan. In fact we cannot accept the PLUS loan except on paper. On that sheet you can state how much out you want out of the amount offered. I would recommend you go online where you could possibly accept the loan and see if they have a link or PDF file for a form you can fill out and send or fax to the school. That's how my dad and I got it taken care of. If that's not an option then call the school. I would think either the registrar's office or the cashier's office (possibly a financial aid office but my school doesn't have one). If you don't know the number, go to your school's website and usually the phone number and address of the school are at the bottom of the webpage. If you call the number they should be able to transfer you.
