What should I go for AA AS or an AAS degree?

Question:I'm pretty sure I want to do something in the medical field but would like to be working in 2 yrs. please explain. the difference to me...which would be better..

Answers:
I realize you want to be working in 2 years, but you should seriously think of a BS or BA. an AA or AS won't get you into management in many companies. It just gets you a job before a high school graduate. Someone with a BS/BA will beat you out almost every time for the best jobs.
If you need to work, consider working for a company who will pay for or help pay for your education.
If you are single, you can take a pretty good work load and work full time as well. I got my MBA with Chevron paying 80% of it. One semester I took 3 graduate level classes and worked full time.
I have a BA in Biology, and there isn't much to do with just a biology degree (Bachelors), let alone an associates degree in that field. Many things in the medical field require special schooling. Decide what you want to do exactly and look into the special schools for those.
First of all, I've never heard of an AAS degree, and I think that would be suspect. An AA is an Associate in Arts, while an AS is an Associate in Science. It seems to me that anything in the medical field would automatically get an AS, but it may be that a particular school has chosen to call the degree an AA. Frankly, whether it is an AA or an AS makes very little difference; what matters is that you get an Associate's degree in whatever field you plan to go into from a good school.
An AAS is an Associate in Applied Science. If you're going on for your bachelors degree, I would suggest earning your AA. Those are your first 60 hours of a bachelors degree, whereas, an AS or AAS do not require all the same courses. I think AS and AAS degrees are more specialized degrees. That is what you may want to do then if you're planning on working within 2 years. Whatever you decide, best of luck to you!
