Completed my MCA in 2004, working in govt sector, i want to jump in s/w field, how should i get experience?

Question:i've completed my MCA in 2004 with 70% from Gulbarga University Gulbarga, Karnataka State.
since 2005 i'm working in DRDO, here i didn't get what experience the s/w industry demands. my working hour is mor 8:00 to evn 4:30 after that i'm free, i want to get experience in java/j2ee or .net. how it is possible to get experience anywhere? i want to work at evening and saturday and sunday i'm free. (without any salary also its ok for me). pl guide me. i'm very much thankful for ur advice in advance..

I don't know much about these degrees and all...however, my niece (from Madurai) who completed MCA in 2005, joined IBM (Banglore) in 2006 and has been sent to Melobourn last month by the company. I thing she got selected staiight away to IBM without any prior experience after completing MCA. ...

get a course in JAVA/J2EE... and complete certification,

and try in software companies as they value people from DRDO for your experience...
