I would advise you to consider all of the options that are open to you in education. You can definitely become a teacher, and you will make ok money. The benefits are good, and you will have a steady pay raise every year. On top of that, you can finish a masters in education (principalship) while you are a teacher, which will increase your salary and make it possible for you to get an administrative position (better $). For that matter, you could look into becoming a school counselor / psychologist. Not everyone in education is a teacher. There are more options. People who get into developing curriculum and school policies, for example, make more than 100k per year, and I believe that they have a pretty nice career.
If you are not turned on to radiology, it just does not make sense to make the investment. There are a lot of people out there who have chosen a career based primarily on financial return. Many of them get up every morning only to face another day working in a job they just don't like. It is good that you are considering financial security as an important factor, because it is important. However, you should not force yourself into a career that is not a good fit for you just because it seems like it will provide the best salary.
You might want to go to your school's career development center. Usually they can offer you tests that will help give you a better feel for careers that might suit you. It would be a good idea to take the Meiers-Briggs and the Birkman tests.
If you want to be a psychologist, why not work for your Phd? It's only a couple of extra years in college. It'll pay off in the end.
If you are going to make career decisions based upon how much money you will make, as opposed to the passion you will have for your work, I see a very unfulfilled life as your future.
If you want to teach do it, forget about the money don't wats your time doing something you don't want to, do what you want to. and the pay depends on what school you go to. If you don't do what you want you will spend the rest of your life wondering what if.
Good Luck!
If you're not sure what you want to be, try googling "What can I do with a (type major of interest here) major?" Go through those links and write down the jobs you find interesting, then go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Handbook page:
http://www.bls.gov/oso
Type in the profession in the search box at the top right hand corner of the page. You'll get all types of great information on a field, including training, qualifications, work environment, future job outlook, salary and similar careers that might interest you. Also, google the jobs on your list for more information on them.
If being a psychologist or teacher is what you want to do, I think you should seriously consider them or similar careers. In my opinion and experience, no amount of money would make me happy if I'm miserable at my job. Consider going to the psychology and education departments at your university and talking to professors there to discuss your concerns. They've heard issues like yours and can give you good advice regarding the fields. Good luck.
be a teacher! it seems like that's what you really want to do
