Has anyone ever done a correspondence course which helped them get a job or furthered their career in some way?
Answers:
I, personally, have not gone to a correspondence school but I have had friends do it with poor results. A credible correspondence school - unless it is part of a university system - is not as good as a diploma from an 'ordinary' or traditional school as far as marketable value in society. While the graduate may be superior in all respects to someone from the ordinary school (traditional school) except in the diploma area employers and other schools (correspondence or otherwise) will most likely choose the person with the traditional diploma. Sometimes and probably most times, but not always, the curriculum and instruction in a traditional school is much, much, much more rigorous than a correspondence school. If you can prove the rigor of the correspondence school's program then you might be able to level the field a bit more but I doubt that it can be completely leveled.
