I'd be surprised if somebody was predicted AAB at A level and they had crap AS results. It doesn't usually work like that. There is a lot of competition to get a place in Medicine. That means not just getting all As but also having lots more to offer (as you already know). Remember, also, that when you fill in your UCAS form the only results you can put down are those you already have. How do you explain your poor AS results (unless you have mitigating reasons such as illness)?
It might be worth your while investigating options other than medicine, such as other healthcare professions.
What is AS ?
I think you'll find that as demand for uni courses in Medicine far outstrips supply, the med schools can insist on 3 grade A's at least at A level. Don't forget that you can resit AS papers to improve your final grades.
i think in your case it depends whether your predicted grades will still be AAB despite your AS results.
if they will still be AAB, then considering all your other extra curricular activities and your (outstanding) personal statement then you should be in with a good chance of getting onto a medicince course.
if not, then there's alway graduate medicine which you can apply for after successfully completing a first degree
AS level results are a pretty good indicator of your likely A'level results, so universities will take a lot of notice of these.
You'll need the grades as well as the experience.
What exactly are your AS level results?
