What A level subjects do i need to do psychology BSc in university?

Question:I have chosen biology, psychology and i am considering history, i already have an AS in chemistry, i want to know if history is a good subject to take, if not then which subjects are good, thank you

Answers:
Psychology is not required by any university for psychology degrees, although it is not a bad idea to study it to gain a background knowledge of the subject.
Some may prefer a science, and Biology is useful. Most will want GCSE Maths A-C, but not an A'level in the subject.
History would be a good subject - it has similarities to Psychology in that in involves research, understanding conflicting interpretions/views and presenting an argument in writing.
It depends which school you want to go to.

However, the courses you have chosen are very good for a preparation in psychology.

Biology will hit on the basis of neuroscience, psychology itself will brush on the general information, and history will teach you about historical figures in the past - a great way to view psychological trends.

Good luck!
Cool, you have made the right choices, at the end of the day as long as you have enough points no-one cares! Every course sees english as a plus, you didn't mention it which is surprising.
another good subject to take is English! as i know from doing both at Alevel.there are alot of essays and coursework for Psychology and you get taught more in english on how to write essays! Also Sociology really links in with psychology!

There are no actual specif courses to take except most universities obviously do want you to Psychology lol
They tend to just ask for certain grades equivilant to the ucas points wanted by the university!
My advice would be to check the websites for the universities you would like to go to and see what their minimum requirements are. First of all you should make sure you're doing subjects your good at because simply getting really good grades can help, as when I was applying to do microbiology at Nottingham University, there were some students who didn't even have any A-level science but had done art at college already on the course.
Also the UCAS website might have some useful tips as a prospective university candidate as they are the official board as regards to university applications.
Hope this helps
Yes History is a good subject to take.
However most uni's don't require any partricular subjects . But If they do they stress on MATHS or a SCIENCE. make those your priorities then just do what you feel. I wanna do psychology too, i chose Biology, Psychology, History cos some say its good for psychology and English for the sake of it.

Taking History was a bad mistake for me though, i barely scraped a C this year, so make sure if you choose another subject its one you can do well in.

you've got 2 science's (Bio & psycho) & chemistry AS. if you really want to be a gem for the uni's do maths only if you think you can do well & enjoy it.
