Will the Courses Taken to Acheive a Bachelor of Nursing Cover the Prerequisites For Medical School...?

Question:... or would one either have to use up some of one's electives to cover them or take on some extra courses?

Thanks.
Comments and Personal Experiences are also greatly appreciated!

Answers:
No, the courses for a BSN are insufficient for medical school. You'd have to use your electives and, even then, it might be tough to squeeze it all in.

Not to mention that BSNs have a very low rate of acceptance to medical school (one of the lowest of all majors). The exception to this is when people have been out in the world and practicing for a while -- the schools look more kindly upon that. But they frown on going straight from nursing school to med school.
I doubt it.

Did you take Biology 1 and 2
Bio-Chemistry
Micro-Biology
Organic Chemistry
Anatomy and Physiology
Inorganic Chemistry

Those are among the many courses a PRe-Med student takes in a full blown Biology major.
Well some. Like Chemistry. But I would recommend you to see the requirements for Medical schools.
I just graduated from BSN and if I were to go to Medical school, it would take me 2 more years to finish off my Pre-med requirements.
Depends on the individual school and the Medical School of which you are applying.

However, if you want to get into Med school, I would suggest doing something other than the minimum. It will stand out like a sore thumb on your application. Take up a minor or take classes that will benefit you in Med School. Competition is tough for Med School and you definitely need an impressive background with lots of volunteer work, research work, and recommendations from science professors.

I would recommend going to an advisor to find out details. They will tell you everything you need to know and more. Also, it might help to talk to professors and see what they recommend as well (at the beginning of the semester). Who knows... you might even get a recommendation out of it.
