Dental School?

Question:I want to go to the Indiana University school of dentistry after I finish my undergrad...what should I major in?

Answers:
It doesn't matter as long as you get the pre-requisites required to apply for dental school. I know this from talking to the faculty adviser for pre-med/pre-dental students at UConn.

The recommendation is that you study business, but take the necessary chemistry/anatomy etc.. for dental school. Many doctors have no business sense.

The requirements to get into dental school are close to identical for medical school.

Enjoy the IUPUI campus.. my wife did her graduate work there, we hung out with a lot of the IU dental students.
some undergraduate schools have a pre dentistry thing you can do, otherwise just major in biology
The nice thing about professional schools is you really can major in whatever you want as an undergrad as long as you take any prerequisite classes too. But, if you really want to be as prepared as possible, many schools with more extensive science programs offer a biology/pre-dental option. Check with your guidance counselor/academic advisor as well as the course catalogs and websites of the schools you're considering.
You could do the standard major in Biology. However you can major in just about any area you want just as long as you take the classes required for Dental school, IE anatomy, chem, bio...
