If I take and fail a class at a community college will my university find out?

Question:I wouldn't transfer the credits

so do they ever have to know what I attempted to do?

Answers:
No. Unless you ask the dean at the community college to send your transcripts to your current place of enrollment, there will be no record other than at that school.
Yes, your university will find out. Its on your permanent student record--your transcripts. Sorry. If you retake the class and pass it, it will then not show up.
I believe that it will be on your transcript just at the cc, so if you never send the transcript (or OK to have it sent) then University would never see the transcript.

OTH if you take another class that you do want sent? I think the F will still be on your transcript, that is, they won't send out "partial" transcripts with just the good grades.
In the UK you can decline your grade.

You wont get anything from it, but no one else will find out.

Some uni's will ask about it, since they'll know you've taken it, they'll probably presume you've failed it.

It depends on how prestigious the uni is, the top will not normally allow any failure, while others may,
probably not.
it will stay on your transcript that is sent over to the university you are trying to attend. i'm not sure if this applies everywhere, but i took classes at a community college and have failed a few clasess. but they offered something called "repeat delete" and if you took the class that you failed again and passed it, the old grade of F would magically disappear and be changed into the passing grade that you got. ask an advisor about this and see if they offer this at your school! good luck! (:
You have to have them send your transcript so you are pretty much screwed. If you lie about not attending a college in the past and they find out you can be expelled.
It all depends. If you don't transfer ANY classes over to your university, which means you never send them a transcript, then no they won't ever know you existed at that college. But if you took some more classes and had to transfer those credits over, they'll find out, because it will be on your transcript from that community college permanently. Most schools have a re-take policy allowing you to take a failed class over again one time to try and attempt to get a better grade. If you succeed, they'll erase the failing mark and replace it with the new grade.

Remember: Most colleges dont add in the grades from other colleges into their GPA, so it won't affect your graduating GPA from that university. You'll just get credit for that course if you passed it.
