books for the classes?
if you didn't receive a list when you enrolled in the classes, then you'll probably get a list in each class on the first day.
you don't really need to buy anything other than like, pens and notebooks and stuff, until you go to class and find out EXACTLY what you need.
You'll find that out on your first day of class, no worries. Everything you need will be in the syllabus that your teacher provides on the first day. However, I do recommend that you use a web site www.ratemyprofessors.com to select your classes. It was a great aid to me during college!
you already have stuff for your dorm?
like a study lamp/bedstuff or toilet things?
backpack/calculator maybe?
maybe start looking around campus?
getting to know your area? your classes and food halls?
important numbers like campus police, admin building or stuff?
You have all you need for now. If the instructors in your courses want anything else they will tell you. All I ever brought to class on the first day of classes was a notebook and a pen. I put off buying anything else until the professors told us what they wanted us to have for class.
I would suggest a BIG calender where you can write all the due dates for the semester: Red for math class, blue for english, etc. Fill it in when you get your syllabus and you can tell at a glance what's due and when you have a test.
I also suggest a white board for your dorm room door. Leave messages like "Looking for someone to go to a movie tonight" or people can leave you messages as well.
