UCSF is an elite university, but it's graduate programs in the medical field only. UC Hastings is only a law school and it would fall approximately into the Very Good category nationally.

that's strictly my opinion. i graduated from uc irvine with bs in mechanical engineering back in 93
I would maybe check out U.S. News and World Report's rankings...But if you're considering one of these schools, it really depends on what you're interested in because certain schools are more "known" for certain areas, i.e. if you're interested in Agriculture and the like UC-Davis would be a great choice.
