No one can tell you of any good careers, what are YOU interested in?
Law would be a great field of study for you, especially with your English and History degree. Birmingham and Warwick are not the only law schools in the country. And admission is based on LSAT scores (an entrance exam like the SAT, but for law school) and your progress in undergraduate school. Don't limit your options solely to the state of Alabama. Look beyond that. The University of Texas at Austin has a world renowned law school as well as Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Explore your options.
check out www.planitplus.net
theres info on careers and entry qualifications to various degrees.
ps- you need 5 good A-levels to do Law, usually all A's
If you want to do Law then go for it! If you're expected to do really well in your A Levels (ie straight As) you could get in as law schools like traditional, academic subjects such as History, RE and English.
Otherwise, maybe you should think about doing something like English, History, Geography, Business, Politics, Philosophy, Psychology... etc
Look on the UCAS website - http://www.ucas.co.uk
and click on "Course Search" on the right hand side. You can look through loads of different subjects and see universities individual requirements.
I would also highly recommend the Guardian University Guide. It has detailed information on every subject you could imagine. You can buy it online (search Guardian Books in Google) or in big bookshops.
Good luck!
