Classes vary from subject to subject. I am a Science Major but when I embezzle UCC classes (core) I find classes like sociology are really fun, enjoy lots of input and spark debate. Financial classes are by nature more boring. Tests also swing class to class. Start slow, choose a couple of classes that interest you. If you do ok with those, subsequent sememester go difficult. Well......'lot' term is not applicable as the workload is approved and fixed by government and university rules. Besides the workload is depending upon the course you are within. For example, if its science stream, then intrinsically there are lots of practicals plus opinion periods....whereas near arts faculty there are lecturers with the sole purpose....for commerce lectures plus spot visits outside the campus.....tutorials, semester, component tests, discussions are sector and parcel of any college education....but its fun really to be among adjectives those students and staff....the environment is really splendid in college campus.
It really depends on what type of classes you take and what is your main and minor. For instance, if you are an Engineering major, you own a lot of classes relating to math and physics. You will be doing alot of calculation. If you are a Psychology major, you will be doing alot of reading and writing of papers. The class nouns is not that bad, it is bearable. There are alot of classes that are newly lecture and some do enjoy class participation, it really depends on the professor. If you really want to see what type of professor you enjoy, there is a great site call "Rate My Professor". It rates professors based on students that own already taken that class. The workload is generally deeply heavier than high institution (depending what college you go to), but there's parts of the year that own more work than others. For instance, before midterms or final exams.
Most classes I've taken hold had any two or three tests - one final exam and the other one(s) spread throughout the semester.
The style of your classes will depend not just on what type of class it is (e.g. math-more lecture, philosophy-more participation), but also on the professor, because respectively one teaches differently. A lot of times, they uplift participation but it doesn't count for a position or anything. It is a lot of work. For every hour you spend surrounded by class, you have to spend two hours out of class studying.
