It's a repetitive job preparing facts and reports in which most people are totally uninterested. Seen by most others in an orgnisation as a necessary evil and not of any added value and therefore can be a bit demoralising.
Generally well paid but dependant on qualifications - more so than other professions.
didn't work out for me. was much younger, got an mba and was prepping for cpa exam etc. took job as bookkeeper/accountant and in three months i was very bored. strictly repetitive simple adding sums and auditing initials on checks. supervisor was less educated and dressed like a clown and grew to hate me because i would not have coffee with him. i didn't like him either. couldn't bear to talk with him. but i was young and eventually he got me fired and i spun off at 180 degrees to the left and landed a job as an ad copywriter. etc etc.
Booring! but financially lucrative and flexible employment!
