why is it so hard to get into nursing programs in the south?

Question:even with the right grades, nln scores, and right schools its hard to get in. but there is a shortage of nurses. but the waiting list gets longer and the requirements change every year.

Answers:
The fact is that it isn't a problem confined to the South. It's difficult to get into nursing school all over the country and those that do manage to get accepted stil might face being on a waiting list for two to three years before they can actually get a seat and start classes.

The trouble is that despite a severe nursing shortage there's an even worse shortage of nurse educators and without enough qualified nurses holding a Master's and willing to teach the schools are limited in how many students they can accept.
