On the Common Application Essay for college, it says a 250 word mimimum response, but with no max stated...?

Question:What is the max? If there is none, what is the suggested length

Answers:
You simply write as much as you need for the essay/topic to be properly covered. There is no right or wrong answer it depends on your writing style. The only thing you don't want to do is write exactly 250 words, then it will be clear that you aren't willing to put any more effort than is required and admissions folks don't like that.
If there is no max, then they want to see how you decide to handle it. Answer everything on the prompt thoroughly as possible, but keep in mind that it shouldn't be too long either because the admissions office doesn't want to read a 4 page letter. I say maybe ballpark it around 500 words or so. But that's just a suggestion. If you need more then use more. "Quality over quantity."
omg, i have the same problem like you have right now except its an essay for u.s. history! I wrote 780 words instead! I think i would have to agree with others above me, that around 400 to 500 words should do it. I don't think anyone would want to read a huge essay when they don't ask for it.
