Definitely the UCs. As a sociology major, you're going to need the higher rep of the UCs if you want to get a job or go on to grad school.
If you don't go on to grad school, you can make a case for the Cal States over some of the UCs in things like engineering or business. Not for sociology though.
University of California! the UC schools are much better than the CS schools. Berkley, Los Angeles, San Diego are all among the nations and worlds best.
I'd certainly have to say UC--Berkeley, LA, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Irvine, Davis; okay, essentially anything UC.
UCs are better than CSUs in pretty much everying. If you can get into a UC, go there.
