How is it majoring to go into veterinary to become a vet?

Question:Is it tough, stressful, fun, any suggestions?

Answers:
Most Vet students major in biology or one of its subfields as this is the easiest way to take all of the require classes to get into vet school. Many colleges have a Pre-Professional program for people who want to go to medical, vet, dental, etc school. That being said, you can major in what ever you want as long as you meet the requirements.

Is is tough, stressfull, fun? Depends on the person. You will need a high GPA to get into vet school. Whether or not this is stressful depends on the individual. I can tell you that it is stressful trying to get into Vet school. It is very competitive. You have a better chance of getting into medical school. Many vet students had a lot of fun in undergraduate, but that changes fast when you get into vet school. It is very tough and demanding. Be ready to spend usually around 8-10 hours a day in classes/labs then go home and study the rest of the night.

Once you finish vet school, be prepared to carry a lot of student loan debt ($100,000-$200,000) and not make a lot of money. Unless you have the money to pay for vet school up front, you will have a significant financial burden. So make sure you really want to be a vet.
You can major in anything and still go to vet school. Vet schools don't care what your major is as long as you fulfill their required list of courses.

So, pick a subject that interests you. If you like it, it will be more fun and less stressful.
