I am VERY confused!

Yes, you do need your school to send teacher evaluations, the school report, and the midyear report (etc) by mail even if you do the common application online. It is not all online or all by mail. Unfortunately, you will also have to ask a lot of questions and fill out more forms at school (and not all from the same person).
You will have to give the teachers who will write your evaluations pre-addressed, pre-stamped envelopes for your recommendations so they can mail the recommendations to the college directly. (Or, they can give it to you and you can mail it, as long as they sign the envelope seal to make sure it hasn't been opened.)
The midyear report is usually filled out by a counselor. (At some schools, it is similar to a transcript.) You should make an appointment with your counselor to get this taken care of. The school can mail it for you.
You can also request to have a transcript and school report sent to the colleges you need. You will need to ask probably at your school's office or student services desk.
