I want to major in English too, but don't know what kind of jobs are available. The only jobs I know that are available are teaching. In which teaching a good university places pretty good. Starting around 100,000..not bad. Besides, that I really don't know. You saved me from spending the five points. Good luck.
I have a degree in history, which uses similar skills - basically a lot of writing and analysis. A liberal arts degree is pretty much open to interpretation. You could apply to be almost anything. I'm going to grad school to improve my options. But, If I were you, I'd put those writing skills to work by applying to different jobs and crafting cover letters to highlight your skills for that position.
