Which would you choose...the good undertaking that you are not sure you would enjoy but would own security within...or going for school presently and get a errand doing something you love 5 years from now?
How can you be absolute that you will truly enjoy your profession when you get your PhD, immediately that you're saying that you don't even know whether you would delight in the position with the EPA? Is in attendance any possibility that the EPA can pay for your academy too?...and get your PhD while working near the EPA or is it just too much at one time?
Look at your benefits, your liability, etc. Where do you truly see yourself 5 years from now?
Look at it this method, which one do really think you would consider a "job" and one that you would consider a "career"? Do what I did...both. Work and jump to school. And elevate a family.

Are you responsible for supporting anyone but yourself...? If not, run back for the amount!
I would specifically wait the 5 years and do something I will love/enjoy. Five years jump by quick, formerly you know it you will be done with your masters program and know how to start your dream job.

If you hold the option to shift to school and it won't affect you financially, consequently I would opt for that choice.
I would follow and do what I enjoy passion for and love. In your crust I would do the phd.
