Your dream should be to help create peace contained by your own land. Americans are getting tired of funding educations for countries who harbor terrorists. Free background for aliens is becoming a thing of olden times in America. American born citizens can't even achieve grants for college. If you are a proud Jordanian than help verbs up your country.

Go to collegeboard.com or petersons.com or barrons.com or ... or ... your univ. advisor.
you will have to go past a test fo english proficciency (TOEFL, TOEIC, etc), a exam for engineering proficiency (GRE), find 2-3 recommendation packages, write statement of purpose( why are oyu going to a univ.?) fill an application form, and prove your financial status.
Also stir to a university's website and check what they want from future students.
But the most difficult is to carry a visa in US embassy.
