I want to work for the CIA?

Question:ill be a senior in high school this september and i just wanted to know what i would need for college to get into this

Answers:
No offense intended but you will have to better with your questions. The CIA employs all sorts of folks from accountants to janitors, drivers to photo interpreters. And if you want to get into the "feet on the ground" spying that is a whole different matter.

Start reading about the agency. You can get a reasonably good idea of the skills necessary.

I can tell you one thing. You will have to pass a background investigation at least as thorough as the one I was subjected to. So keep your nose clean, no stripping, no drugs, no DUI nothing of that nature will do you any good. Also maintain your finances in good shape. Just being in too much debt can cause you problems. When someone is always in need of money their allegiance can be bought. Never forget your associates either, we are know by the company we keep. Live your life so you can sell your talking parrot to the town gossip. That's Will Rogers' line but it's most appropriate here.

Concentrate on core subjects the first 3 to 4 semesters of college. By then you should have some idea of exactly what interests you. When you decide, the road to the goal will become obvious.

Good luck.

You need excellent scoring in math, English. After high school, you will pursue a career in criminal justice. Finish all the schooling to the full extent. The higher the grades, the better your chances. Now it gets hazy. I'm sure if your required to have x amount of time in the police force. It might be ten years, or less..maybe more. There are many prerequisites before you can get into the CIA. The military is another method.
The CIA employs people from all sorts of backgrounds. They like seeing that you have knowledge of one or more foreign languages, and they'd LOVE it if you had an "in-need" language, such as Korean, Farsi, Arabic (specific to a country), Mandarin, Cantonese, etc. They hire computer programmers, human resource specialists, business managers... The background you need depends on the type of work you hope to do for them.

I think they're pretty hot to hire the following right now: computer science, computer programming, and people with specific foreign language skills, and MBAs.

As another poster stated, have a look at their web page. They've actually got a really good recrutiing page, which describes the different career tracks within the CIA, and what you need in terms of qualifications.

Keep your nose clean. Don't do anything you wouldn't want your mother knowing about, and you'll probably be fine in terms of the background check.

If the CIA appeals to you, also check opportunities at the State Department.
