You'd go for a bachelor's degree in psychology, then seek an advanced degree (the doctorate--can we call you Dr. LEX i?) during which you'll study an area of specialization, forensic psychology.
criminal justice
My psychology teacher was talking to us about this last year and if I can remember correctly, the psychology major has different studies (such as developmental psychology, behavioral, etc). So I suggest doing that and minor in forsenic psychology. Best of luck! At least you have an idea about what you want in a career early one. =]
Well, you need to st yourself up for a psych degree in college, so begin with taking psych in high school. Also, if you can take any education classes (things that the FTA crowd mess with) that would be very helpful (you'll learn about what motivates people and how knowledge is assimilated--good basic psych stuff!).
Be sure to take any criminal justice classes that your high school offers as well. Our students love the stuff!
Plan on a getting a graduate-level degree, too. A BA is a good start, but most professionals in the psych fields have at least an MA (or MS), and many have PhD's.
Good luck! Sounds like you have a very interesting future ahead of you!
I just googled Forensic Psychology , and it says that you have to study a combination of psychology and criminal justice (http://www.princetonreview.com/college/r...
I reckon combination of anthropology, sociology, psychology classes and some law classes will go hand in hand with your interest. Looks like Florida Tech University, St. Ambrose university and more have program in Forensic Psychology.
