Do I NEED 3 years of language to get into a UC or CAL state?

Question:I take AP classes and my grades are As and Bs. That was, until I took Spanish 2 my junior year with a crazy, spanish obsessed teacher. 1st semester- C 2nd semester- B
I was lucky that I didn't fail and it was soo stressful and I don't want that again, but the same teacher is the only one teaching Spanish 3.
Is it really that important that I have 3 years of language?
Will I be able to get into a UC or CAL state with 2 years?

Answers:
Two years of language are required and three years are recommended for the UCs. There are other ways to get your third year of Spanish, including taking a summer Spanish course at your local community college (the grade carries an extra point so it will help boost your GPA).
You might be able to get into a state with 2 years, but the UCs are so competitive that it's probably the absolute BEST to take three years of foreign language, no matter how much you don't like your teacher. If you're just aiming for a state, it's fine.
yes, UCs are so extremely competitive that you need to take at least three years of a foreign language in order to just keep up with everyone else. i don't want to take spanish 3 this coming year either, but i know that doing it will increase my chances of standing out
