Answers:
You must complete your a-g requirements with a 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply to the UC campuses. Your freshman and senior grades are not included in the GPA calculation. If you only have a 2.9, you may be eligible to apply if you score, on average, 700 or better on all sections of the SAT Reasoning Test and the two Subject Tests (see additional details on satisfying this requirement here: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/ad... ).
Probably. And I don't know how UCs work, but 1st semester grades that are good are also a plus.
ask you high school counselor. they have all the pre-reqs and all that.
It will be tough for you to get in. On the one hand, UC-Riverside is the least selective of the UC schools (except perhaps for Merced -- which doesn't have enough history to tell). On the other hand, it is still a UC school and ranked in the top 70 of all colleges in the US.
According to Princeton Review, the average GPA is 3.5 -- and you are well below that. In addition, about 2/3 of those admitted have higher SAT scores than you do.
It is not impossible for you to get into UC-R -- but it is not going to be easy for you to get in.
Yes -- they will want your first semester grades from your senior year before they make a decision.
You need a back-up plan.
well theres a 33% chance that they will accept you right out of HS. if you go to a community college you have a 70% chance of getting accepted because you already have half of your credits and all your General education done. And you transfer in as a junior. and all the general education you do at the UC you could do at a community college for less.
