Should i try going to a public school?cause i'm homeschooled?

Question:i've been homeschooled for 5 years now but since i'm in the 10th grade actually will be going this year i was thinking of attending a public school but i'm kind of scared cause i've only been to regular school when i was in elementary and since then i've been doing home studies but the thing is it kind of sucks not having friends and i'm really board in my house every single day and also to be honest i'm kind of worried because i know and feel i'm not learning all the things i need to. so what do you think i should do should i try it or not what do you think? and what is it like if your in high school is it hard or not. thanks!

Answers:
going to a public school is the best thing don't be scared it is not that hard to make friends
if you want to have memories and want friends, learb=n better stuff i suggest you go to public schools. If you go to a public high you can have stuff to get you in a better college.l8terz.
heck yessss!! its funn. im i JR. HIGH not HIGH SCHOOL. but honestly its funn. because your with friends. and making new friends is awsum! i really think that you should goo to a public school!
No human can be spoiled if he or she doesn't want it. Don't think that every other person outside is cool except you. You can go to public school and pick your friends(good). Don't smoke and drink out your life(if you think that's wrong anyway). I have a daughter, on her birth day, I made her bring all her friends home so that I can see them. They are all fine and good girls. Just try to pick the right one to associate with.
If you think you're behind, then going to high school might not be the way to go, at least not at first. Find out for sure and if you are behind, look into an online or correspondence program you can do to catch up.

Also, make sure you get out! Homeschooling shouldn't mean being home all the time. Talk to your parents about finding a support group or getting involved in some sort of activities--there's lots to do during the day. If they don't get moving on it, take the initiative to find things yourself. In addition to a homeschool support group, look for opportunities to volunteer (library, girls and boys club, senior citizen home, hospital, etc.) or other activities, like swimming or other lessons/sports offered in your community. If there are a lot of homeschoolers where you live, there may even be daytime programs set up for this stuff for homeschoolers.
Just some things to consider.
Why are you staying at your house all day? My kids are home schooled and they are in tons of activities like dance, track, swimming, Civil Air Patrol, church activities, volunteering, and so on. Some times I wish they weren't so busy.
How are your grades? Are you going to college? You may be able to enroll in college classes and earn some college credits while getting your credits to graduate high school.
There are more important things to going to school than just the social aspect. And there are DEFINITELY better ways to socialize. I have known kids that get way off track when they go back to school in high school because of all the negative influences and distractions.

Good Luck whatever you decide.
I'm home schooled too, and I have been since the 3rd grade (I'm in 8th now)
I thought about going back to public school since I went to it in elementary school too
but I go to this home school co-op
and I have TONS AND TONS of friends, everybody there just clicks together, from grades kindergarten to seniors.(not to forget CUTE boys :P, lol)
and I know I'm learning everything I would in public school because I have a friend in pubic school, and I seriously think homeschoolers learn more. Because we don't have to be distracted with sluts, snotty people, stuck up people, rude teachers, and alot more...

I know I'm happy being home schooled, so hopefully you'll make the right choice!?

At our highschool, you can take a couple of classes from there and then just like go home then.
My sister used to take a science and I think a math from our highschool in the early morning then would come home and finish her work. But then she went back to public school for her senior year.
So maybe your high school has that too? Just so you could get a feel for a public school, that way you could see if you want to go back or not?!
yes, of corse, life isnt anything unless you try everything. my highschool is very hard but i will never forget
Your question seems directed to public high school students.
I work in public high school, so I'm going to give you my answer.
We have some great kids at our high school. We have a few kids who come from home school or private school during their high school years. I do not know of any student who did not do fine in public school after the transfer.
Looking at your concerns, I think you need to be more pro-active with your education. If you are not learning things you think you should know, get on line and go to your state education website. There should be information on what you should be learning by their standards.
I know that on line has different punctuation rules so it may be that you know better, and just don't do better. People do judge the way we use what we know. It may make you feel better about yourself to practice your punctuation.
Don't be offended. This is my 'grandmotherly' advice given with a smile.
