I'd recommend getting her resume out there by posting it on monster.com / craigslist.com and sites of the like. She should start asking her professors if they knew of any current openings since many companies will recruit from campus directly.
Paula should apply everywhere she thinks she might like to work and a hundred other places. How does one honestly know what one wants to do until they're doing it? Business is a pretty big area too.
