10th Grade.
When I started being homeschooled back in 6th grade I had alot of friends. Alot of the friends I went to school with started being homeschooled at the same time I did. But When 9th grade rolled around last september like all of them went to a high school. So this past 2 years I have seem them like once every what? 4 months or something. So I want to make new friends. I know I would get lots of new friends if I joined the homeschool basketball team but im not very athletic. I have ashma but its a lot better now. So could some homeshooling teenagers (or were homeschooled) tell me there experiences or just some advice from everybody?
Answers:
I've been home schooled all my life, so I know where you're coming from. I used to not have that many friends myself. I'm a senior in high school and I had this same dilemma.
The place that I have most of my friends is at church. I know some people don't go, and you might not.
I do Tae Kwon Do as well, and that is a really good way to meet other people. You have to be careful though. Some Do Jangs (schools) are really rough. Don't get involved in one of those schools. As to your ashma, I have a few friends that used to have it, but after they started doing martial arts, it went away. So check that out.
I only have one more piece of advice: be yourself. Don't try to be another person to make others like you. For a few years I tried to be somebody I wasn't to make a girl like me. Turns out it wasn't worth it. Soon there after, I found my current girlfriend. I can be myself around her, and she can me herself around me. That's the relationship with everyone.
Good luck!
