Where can I find help for my children?

Question:I am raising my 4 grandbabie son a low income. WHere can I fond help with things for school like school supplies , back packs and even school clothes??

Answers:
You may want to go to the local thrift store for clothes. Since kids grow out of clothes so quickly, you'll be able to find gently worn items. As for school supplies and backpacks, sign up for freecycle or cheapcycle in the yahoo groups. You'll find a lot people getting rid of children's things for free or very inexpensively. Dollar stores are great for pencils, pens and paper. You may be even be able to find them backpacks there.
Thrift Stores
Thrift stores and you may even look for a local ministry around you to see if they offer assistance for people in need. There may be some guidelines that you have to meet, but it is definately worth looking into.

Good Luck!
yes, churches are good. we have a couple in our town that have school supply give aways this time of year and a couple of times a year they will have "free" garage sales, where they give clothes away, too.
Also, check with the school. Sometimes they have school supplies for families in need, plus they should have tons of information about assistance for low income households.
Just ask.
Wal Mart, at about half the price of other stores. They have lots of 10 cent and 50 cent items.

Note books for 10 cents. Folder for 10 cents. Caryons for 10 Cents.
Look into local programs like food pantries, thrift stores etc... also try craigslist or ebay when wanting basic clothing or supplies.
I know where I am Catholic charities helps out families with school supplies and no, you don't have to be Catholic!
