Virtual school or public school for highschool?

Question:Well ive been going to public school for all my life and Ive been researching on virtual schools and how much they are. But i need some people about virtual school, I want to go to virtual school because public schools are so boring and you have to wait for the kids who cant learn fast, also kids who disturb the class. I am going to be in 10th grade soon, so any suggestion on whcih to pick and dont say public school because i need to socialize. And if somehere does virtual school, can you please tell me your expierence of it as well, thank you.

Assuming you have your parents/guardians permission, or are legally emancipated, first go here to find your state laws.

Then go to your school's Dept of Education website and find out how driver licenses and work permits are tied to homeschooling. Some states are passing or trying to pass funky laws about those tied to school attendance.

First, look into local colleges and see if they have duel credit classes. You get High School and College credit at the same time. If your classes are boring, this more advanced material might work for you.
If this doesn't interest you, look here to read about accreditation. If you are going to pay for this, make sure you are getting an actual school and not just a diploma mill.

Then, using the above information Google any combination of the following: online high school homeschool virtual school.
Check in your school district and see if a program called NovaNET is available.
im sorry im putting this down as an answer but wuts virtual school?
wow i wish i could do a virtual school. im also a sophmore!!!! I go to public school and im sorry but it sucks!
You might get more out of homeschooling, and supplementing with some online courses instead of doing highschool entirely online. Check out www.Clonlara.org. Learning is always more fun when there are other people around who are interested in exploring & discussing the same stuff, & there are lots of homeschooling groups that meet for particular classes that they themselves create & set up. Or you could take a class or two at a local community college. Lots of options are available, including tutoring (one-on-one or group). Hope this helps!
If you're motivated to learn, a virtual school could be a great choice. You do need to be able to motivate and prioritize, and you have to want to learn, but it sounds like you have those qualities.

Classrooms, by definition, have to teach to the majority; and with NCLB, they often end up teaching to the lower half of the majority to try to keep test scores up. If you learn quickly and are motivated, you can get bored fast...which is a large reason why my son is homeschooled.

I encourage you to go for it - you'll probably love it :-) Just make sure your school offers what you're looking for, there are a lot of them to choose from!
If you find the pace of public school slow as well as the behaviour of other kids annoying, then virtual school could be a really good choice for you. You'll be able to go your pace, get ahead if you want and won't have some wisea** slowing things down even more.

It's a very popular option here for kids who want to homeschool and want to get a diploma, so it obviously works well for the right student. As for the credits you've already earned, bring it up with different virtual schools and see what they say. Each school is going to have a different policy because their courses may not quite match up with a course by the same name offered in a public school.
virtual school is like real school except with electives such as art, gym, rotc, anything that takes the need of you physically to be there.

Its ok i mean if you dont mind the isolation.
I do see your point though about public school i went to one.

virtual school might fit you if you can mind not having to be able to talk to friends for help , school dances, and activities.

Although one good plus about virtual school is you never have to worry about running to your classes late because of locker problems.
It depends on you.if you like seeing your friends everyday..and the whole group work experience b/c when you get older your going to have to deal with weird people. Personally..if i were you i'd choose regular school...maybe you could go to a private school if tooooo many kids get on your nerves. I have a friend who went from public school to virtual and she went back to public school.
But I think you should choose which one YOU would rather do. Good luck choosing =]
See if your state has a virtual school. For instance, FL has www.flvs.net. Now go to these websites and see if your state has one too.

Also, remember that you would have to register as a homeschooler.

i have the same problem as you i think online schooling is better b/c you can go at YOUR own pace and goin to public school is boring and you dont go to socilze you go to learn you can solize anywhere. i wis i could go online and finis my 11th and 12th grade so bad but my parents dont want me to cuz they say i need to ''socialize" and i need to have memories.but they get on my nerves anyway. but i hope if you decided to do it ten your parents support you and let you do it well good luck. o and they will let you transfer your credits my boyfriend did it online at belford and it was only 249 and they send you your diploma and everything.
well if you actually want to get the full reason of school here in america it is not solely about learning school work it is about broadening your ideas in general as friendships or playing sports to involve yourself with others so that you do not end up isolating yourself from the rest of the school which is why they have so many different groups for kids these days...trust me if you allow the other people to have a chance and get involved with others face to face not by being connected through a computer screen so what yeah your communicating but from behind basically closed doors. There is way more offered to you in the public or private school systems they work better in the long run.
