After the Emancipation Proclamation?

Question:I'm writing a paper and I need to know what was life like for African Americans after the Emancipation Proclamation and in the late 1800s/ early 1900s

Answers:
Begin with conditions for African Americans during the Civil War. Research what is was like on BOTH sides of the conflict, before and after Lincoln's prolamation.

Next, do some research on the Resconstrution Era. Look up terms like "carpetbagger" and "forty acres and a mule."

Also, follow the various Amendments to the Constitution that ultimately led to Blacks finally being allowed to vote. (the Emancipation Proclamation merely, technically freed the slaves. It did not make them citizens. It did not give them the right to vote, and it did NOT prevent individual state from enacting laws and practiced the prevented blacks from voting clear up to the 1960s)
you need to research this.there is too much to tell
