Question:I have a page full of trinomial problems. I only need help with 2 and use those as examples. I am supposed to decide whether or not each polynomial is a trinomial square. If so, I'm supposed to factor it.
1) x squared + 14x + 49
2) a squared - 6a + 9
PLEASE HELP! :(
Answers:
x2+14x+49
(x+7)square
both perfect squares you can use FOIL to check
a2-6a-9
(a-3)squared
Both of these are perfect square trinomials
x^2 + 14x + 49
(x + 7)^2 both factors are exactly the same
a^2 - 6a + 9
(a - 3)^2
1. x^ + 14x + 49
X(x+2+7)
x(x+9)
2. x^ - 6a + 9
x(a-2+3)
x(a+1)
im not sure about the answers but you can try this
