Help with noun clauses?

Question:I know where the noun clauses are, I just don't know what they are. They can be a subject, a direct object, an indirect object, a predicate nominative, an object of a preposition, or an appositive.
1. Mrs, Clark, who is my neighbor, won first prize.
2. The teacher will give whoever completes the essay assignment extra credit.
3. My mom is who I trust.
4. My baby brother eats whatever he is fed.
5. I will give help to whomever needs it.
6. What I need most is a good night's sleep.
I really need help. I had trouble with this a few years ago and I'm still having trouble with it now. I've looked it up and read my paper's and I'm still confused. If you could please help me I'd love you forever. Thanks!

Answers:
A noun clause is just a group of words that are acting like they are one single word. They play the same role in a sentence as a single-word noun. They also have a subject and verb in themselves (otherwise, it would just be referred to as a noun phrase).

Anything a single-word noun can do in a sentence, a noun clause can do:

Mrs. Clark, a woman, won first prize.

In that sentence, "a woman" is a noun. "Who is my neighbor" is a clause (it is the question form of the clause "my neighbor is who."). It plays the same grammatical role in that sentence as "a woman" did.

A clause is a subject and a verb that make a complete thought. A noun clause is a subject/verb combo that act in the place of a simple noun inside a sentence.
